People with good self-esteem are able to express their feelings and intuitions in words. They are open and honest and are more authentic and engaged in life. This might come easily to some, but for others, it is not innate and we must learn it - and we can learn it.
It is often thought that self-confidence comes from how we communicate with others. In reality, it is not what we say, but what we think that needs to change. The continual self-criticism in our own minds is what undermines our trust. By learning not to listen to these thoughts, or even to change what your inner voice says, you can gain self-confidence.
It can feel like a great relief to be more assured and authentic, and to care much less about the opinions of others.
