Anxiety and stress are the root difficulties today that drive us to smoke, eat badly, suffer phobias, fear social events, or sleep poorly, along with many other problems my clients consult me for. Working with me means you will be empowered to improve the situation, but you also acquire practical lifelong skills in self-hypnosis, relaxation and mindfulness to use any time that suits you or that you need.

I use cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to change unhelpful thoughts and behaviors

 

For many of us, unhelpful thoughts arouse negative emotions, unwanted physiological responses and problem behaviors.  You will learn how to make your thinking more useful, thereby changing how you feel physically and emotionally as well as how you act, even to changing your fundamental beliefs about yourself.  

'CBT is the most listed therapy on the American Psychological Association list of Empirically Validated Treatments, and the psychotherapy most recommended by the UK's National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE).

CBH is today the only hypnotherapy qualification the British Psychological Society recognizes for Continuing Professional Development. Both the British Medical Association and the NHS approve CBT hypnotherapy as effective for a great many conditions; the NICE also acknowledges the benefits of CBH in treating certain disorders.

Assessments first help us to understand the breadth and nature of your difficulty; planning your treatment plan is then collaborative, so we agree on what tools and approach is the right place to start for you.

CBT Hypnotherapy can be conducted in-person or online, to fit into even a busy lifestyle. Yet, no matter the treatment plan we agree on, cognitive-behavioural hypnotherapy techniques such as I offer are based on scientific research showing their usefulness in bringing at least some change.
